A Beautiful Violin by Laura Vigato (Brescia 1999)

This is a contemporary Italian violin made in Brescia in 1999 by Laura Vigato. The violin carries the maker’s original signed label. The top is made of fine grained spruce, the beautiful one-piece back of fine irregular flamed maple, with similar wood to the ribs and the head. The varnish is a transparent reddish brown. Length of back is 356mm. There is a small repair on the back edge upper treble bout unaffected, otherwise the violin is in near mint condition. The violin is set up with Dominant strings, the bridge is the work of William Moennig & Son. The sound is bright, sweet and ringing, very responsive and powerful, highly recommended for serious players.
